Data on your device

Your game progress (progress, credits, outfits, trophies, settings) is stored on your iPhone and – if you are signed in to iCloud – also backed up privately to your iCloud (see below). For troubleshooting, the app also keeps the last 40 technical events (e.g. error messages) without personal data, on the device only. Event reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone itself, set up only with your consent. Deleting the app removes this data.

Online ranking and cloud save (Apple iCloud / Game Center)

If you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit and Game Center. For the world ranking and APEX Daily, an app-specific user ID issued by Apple, your Game Center nickname and your best scores and event results are stored in the app’s public iCloud database. Other players can see your nickname and scores. Your progress is also backed up to your private iCloud storage, visible only to you. Unlocked achievements are reported to Game Center.

We do not run our own server; the provider is Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the game feature). Without an iCloud sign-in nothing is stored in CloudKit. Game Center is contacted for sign-in even if you are not signed in to iCloud; Game Center and your Apple Account are services provided by Apple under its own responsibility. CloudKit data may be processed by Apple Inc. in the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision).

Retention: ranking entries until deleted; first ascents of a level (level number and user ID) permanently as part of the game history. You can turn off your ranking entry in the app (Settings › World ranking) or clear it with “Delete all progress”; on request by email we delete it completely. You can delete your private progress in your iPhone’s iCloud settings.

If you agree in your iPhone settings, Apple provides us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics.

This website

This website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website sets no cookies, loads no external fonts and uses no analytics. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact us at mail.boku7@gmx.de.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. Beyond the online ranking we do not collect any personal data.
